Learning Outcome
This course will help students develop essential employability skills to communicate effectively and work successfully in a professional environment. Students will gain confidence in many aspects of business, for example, writing formal business emails, problem-solving in the workplace and working effectively as part of a team. Key areas covered in this course include:
- Writing clear and professional business emails
- Understanding and applying problem-solving techniques
- Developing teamwork skills to work successfully with colleagues
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for B1 – C3 learners (i.e. students who have a reasonably good understanding of spoken and written English) who want to develop their employability skills for the workplace.
Course Structure
You will learn with your teacher and other students through live online lessons.
Course Duration
This course is run for 12 weeks. Each lesson is 1 hour long per week. You will access the live lesson via our Teams platform. Your teacher will email you all the information to successfully enter the ‘classroom’. There will be an expectation from your teacher to complete at least 2 hours a week of private study, and your teacher will guide you with this.

Course Content and How Will I Be Tested?
The course consists of twelve live lessons designed to improve students’ ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and work collaboratively in a professional setting.
Live Lesson 1 – Course introduction and how to prepare and write formal business emails
Live Lesson 2 – Problem-solving: Introduction to problem-solving theory and different approaches
Live Lesson 3 – Developing teamwork skills and effective collaboration in the workplace
Live Lesson 4 – Professional communication: Writing clear and concise messages to colleagues and clients
How Will I Be Assessed?
There will be a great deal of interaction throughout the lesson between you, your teacher, and the other members of the course. Your teacher will assess your progress in every lesson through your participation and contributions. There will also be written tasks, which will be assessed by your teacher, who will provide personalised feedback. At the end of the course, your teacher will write a short report on how you have progressed.

Extra/Individual Support
It is possible to have one-to-one or small group (no more than 5 students) support from an Employability Skills teacher. The course fees for these options are given below.
